The work started with menopause. The bigger issue was impossible to ignore.

My work began by helping women navigate midlife hormonal imbalance, including menopause with greater understanding, confidence, and evidence-based support.

But the more people I worked with, the clearer something became: menopause wasn’t happening in isolation. Women were navigating significant biological change while leading teams, managing demanding careers, caring for families, and working within systems that often weren’t designed for changing human capacity.

And women weren’t alone. Men were navigating their own midlife biological and hormonal changes, changes that can affect energy, sleep, body composition, cognition, and overall wellbeing.

The experiences are different, but the larger question for me became: How do we builid workplaces that sustain people, performance and leadership as people move through midlife and longer careers?

Today, The Charlie Reid Group works at that intersection, bringing together public health science, human biology, and workforce strategy to help organizations protect performance, retain experienced talent, and strengthen leadership capacity.

Menopause remains an important part of that work. But it is also a signal of something much bigger: our workforce is changing, careers are getting longer, and the way we support human performance must change with them.
